Tech. Sgt. Stephen J. Kaufman, a reservist and explosive ordnance disposal team leader with the 512th Airlift Wing, Dover Air Force Base, Del., deployed to Afghanistan to provide EOD support to United Kingdom, Danish and Estonian forces in clearing insurgent cells throughout Kandahar, Helmand and Zabul provinces. He earned the Bronze Star and Air Force Combat Action Medal for his contributions and actions while deployed.
